Mackenzie implements an integrative approach to counseling by empowering choice within her clients, promoting acceptance and exploring patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. She believes in the importance of creating individualized treatment plans, validating difficult experiences, while also encouraging growth outside a client's comfort zone. Mackenzie has clinical experience working in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient therapy settings, treating those who experience anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, self-esteem concerns, substance use disorders, and more. She understands treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), prolonged-exposure therapy (PE), schema therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness/meditation practices.
Mackenzie has a calming and kind energy that allows people to feel emotionally, mentally and physically safe, while promoting vulnerability within the healing journey. Both reflecting on where you are at in life and reaching out for support can feel really intense… Please know that you absolutely deserve to be supported and do not have to endure hardships alone! Give yourself the same grace you may tend to give others.
